"RV Manta - FGBNMS - FGBNMS-17-09-HIA_389_A.nc - 29.32N, 94.68W - 2017-07-12"


NOAA, Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary (FGBNMS) staff and volunteer scientists will conduct surveys on SCUBA at the HI-A-389-A platform in accordance with Interagency Agreement # E14PG00057. HI-A-389-A is currently a standing petroleum platform located within the East Flower Garden Bank (EFGB) boundaries, a component of FGBNMS. SCUBA operations will include fish and benthic surveys from the surface to a depth of 40 meters (130 feet) on the platform. This survey cruise provides a baseline to compare information collected on a future cruise which will be conducted after the top portion of the platform has been removed.
